Eric Becker

Eric Becker is a Master’s Student at Oregon State University studying Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Health Physics.  He is interested in pursuing radiation detection and measurement technologies for homeland security, safeguards, and treaty verification applications. Pulse processing performed in real time and completely in the digital domain by using an ADC and FPGA instead of the usual NIM components and is an aspect of radiation detection technology that I am coming to appreciate more and more. I am currently developing a small, low-cost gamma spectrometer based on a solid-state photomultiplier and digital pulse processor. Such a device would be a valuable asset for personal dosimetry and radiological event response.
